19th Annual Big Sur Weapons Retreat

Description: Experience 2 days of camping, training, and fun at the Douglas Ranch Camp, a serene, natural setting amidst oak-covered hills along the Tularicitos Creek in beautiful Carmel Valley, 15 miles east of Carmel, California. |
Activities: Martial arts and out of doors related fun: Of interest to martial artists of all levels, this is an opportunity to study basic and advanced jo and bokken. Other activities may include swimming in the 75-foot swimming pool, chi gong, tennis, and volleyball. The facilities at Douglas Ranch also include a large, rustic lodge with 3 dining rooms each with fireplace, bathroom facilities with hot showers, hiking trails, tennis courts, and archery range. All meals will be provided. The meals will be simple vegetarian and non-vegetarian fare. Sleeping will be on provided cots in rustic, wooden cabins, accommodating 2-4 campers each. Families are welcome. Children are the responsibility of the parents.

Bring a joyful spirit and: Toilet articles -- include towel. Sleeping bag and pillow. Flash light. Clothing: dogi, warm clothes for the evening. Weapons: jo and bokken (we will have extra available for use during the camp). Optional: musical instrument, swimsuit.
